ScottishFixer is a Scottish production services operation. We're hired by production companies, agencies and brands to deliver their work in Scotland: locations, permits, crew coordination, on-ground production support, and UK and Scotland tax incentive guidance.

ScottishFixer is not a production company. We don't develop, finance or own creative. Production companies and agencies bring us in to make their projects happen on the ground in Scotland.

The operation is led by founder and lead producer Jack Cowhig, who has spent eight years producing in Scotland. Jack is your main point of contact from the first email through to wrap, with a trusted team of people he's worked with for years on hand when the production calls for it.

Our Scottish Network

Local producers, country-wide reach.

ScottishFixer operates with a regular network of Scotland-based producers across Edinburgh, Glasgow and the Highlands, built over Jack's eight years of producing in the country. The network gives us same-week recces, on-day execution across the country, and the relationships with councils, estates and Screen Scotland that international productions need to actually get a shoot made.

When a brief lands, we're not starting from cold. There's already someone two hours from your location who knows the landowner, the access road, and the local crew.

Jack Cowhig

Jack started in production and learned Scotland location by location, building the network of crew, contacts, landowners and permit relationships that make shoots actually happen on time and on budget. He's based in Edinburgh and works everywhere from the Borders coast to the Outer Hebrides.

The Full Picture

Before you arrive

We scout your locations, secure all permits, hire your crew, source equipment, book accommodation, plan transport, build the schedule around daylight and logistics, and handle every piece of admin so your team lands in Scotland ready to shoot.

While you're here

The team is on the ground managing crew, liaising with landowners and councils, and keeping the schedule on track. Jack is always reachable if something needs escalating, and he'll be there when it matters.

After you leave

Wrap logistics, equipment returns, final cost reconciliation, crew payments, and anything else that needs tying up.

Why Scotland

Depth Over Breadth

Scotland is home base and where we do our best work. The landscapes, the permit bodies, the crew network, the landowners: we know them all. That said, we're happy to work across the width and breadth of the UK when the project calls for it. If you need someone who can move between Scotland and England, or cover a multi-location UK shoot, get in touch and we'll work it out.
